Historic Titles - Wigtownshire, West Scotland

The Estate is located on the Machars - a peninsula in Dumfries and Galloway known for its vibrant wildlife, a dramatic coast line and wonderful views. The woodland itself is tranquil and thick with trees, surrounded by pastoral views to the North, South and West and Wigtown Bay to the East. We highly encourage visitations - with the ancient forests of Galloway Forest Park nearby and the bay on the other side of the estate, the surrounding area is full of exhilarating views and sights to take in. Galloway Forest Park is also the UK's first designated Dark Sky Park, making one of the best places in the world to see the stars in the night sky in their full beauty.

Only a short 8 minute drive away from Scotland's famous book town of Wigtown, you may wish to know that there are other attractions to see in the area - to the East sits the mysterious Threave Castle, a foreboding fortress situated on an island perfect for exploring and picnicking.  Other famous ancient sites include the Torhousekie Stone Circle and the Cairnholy chambered cairn.

We encourage our Lords and Ladies to visit their plots whenever they wish. Under Scotland's "freedom to roam" customs, private land can be kept open to public access for all to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. We do ask, however, that any visitors leave the woodland just as they found it so as not to disturb the wildlife and trees in the area.

You can find our land on Google Maps here.
